With the rage of rock bands and concerts, we have always admired the life of the same. The psychedelic lights, trippy music and the fans roaring while the band performs. We encounter such experiences on quite daily basis. Today, even the tiniest lounges have live band performances on daily basis. People are taking us music as their full time professional. If we just rewind a few years back when even the thought of music as a career was terrifying. There was no possible scope besides doctors and engineers. Yet, there was a band who achieved this target 25 years ago.

Parikrama-a legendary classic Indian band started off with a mindset of four months start up now have millions of fans all over the world. From 3000 gigs to daily 6am practices, they have crossed all the boundaries making their mark in music industry. Their trippy music added a genre of rock music in the 1970’s. They are unlike any other band who dive in the societies mindset instead they made their own path. But what kept them going? We give you a few reasons of why this band is not like any other rock band till date.
1. First step in rock industry
Parikrama has set standards for rock bands which are next to impossible for others to attain. Started off as a performing artist in school, they have now reached a platform with a line up of linking park in the list. Inspired from the works of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, they are the complete pack of 60’s hippie music. Their dedication has even led them to perform 161 gigs in a year and watching them today onstage would be of no change!
2. Band with a motive
Despite of just imparting exceptional music, they have even worked on motives. When the concept of band was not even introduced, they were working on missions of Free Tibet Movement, Underprivileged kids and Animal rights. Their beliefs and values has lead them a long way. The first in New Delhi to perform a concert on AIDs Awareness, how cool is that?
3. Rising high from Bollywood
In the society lead by commercial bollywood genre, this band set itself apart. Their compositions are the sole reason of their success and fan following. The main motto of quit piracy promoted by all comes from their roots. Their belief in music has no bars of competition and religion. They organise concerts with their competitors, Indian Ocean, Shilpa Rao called Parikrama and Friends where they play with them every now and then.
4. Always ahead of time
Technology had not even set their steps, when this band had its own website for promotion. Giving up the old school concepts of public relations, they used internet to make themselves famous. The time when there was a rage of Cd’s and cassettes, they survived on live performances.
5. The silver lining
Parikrama would even cross their silver line of 25 years on this June, 2017. They have been the oldest Indian band to retain in the industry for so long. Sticking to their principles all through long, they had their ups and down but the passion for music is what that has kept them together. Each member of the family has made us fall in love with them. As they cross 25 years this year, we thank them to inspire us to dream big!
